我們通常都只在歷史課本上才看到「古寧頭」這三個字，卻對這場戰爭的背景並無深入了解。民國38年，古寧頭成為戰役中的最前線，即為「古寧頭大捷」。當時的戰況慘烈，許多地方都留有戰爭後的痕跡，金門軍民為了紀念在這場戰爭中犧牲的英勇將士們，特別在戰爭的故地建立戰史館。
In 1949, Kuningtou was the battlefront during the war between the Kuomingtang and P.R.O.C. At that time, the battle was fierce, and the war left many traces. The Kinmen residents opened the museum to memorialize those sacrificed soldiers.
館內詳細介紹戰爭的情況與歷史，還有多幅大型油畫跟許多珍貴的史記，可以讓遊客感受到當時的激戰。甚至還有先總統蔣介石所搭乘的校閱專用吉普車。
而在館外門口兩側各有一部戰車，這兩輛戰車的來歷可不小，是美軍在硫磺戰役上所使用的。它們在古寧頭大戰扮演舉足輕重的角色，有「金門之熊」的稱號，可見他們的地位不一般。
The museum has lots of information and history of the war. Outside the museum there are two tanks, called “the bears of Kinmen”. They were used during the war of Sulfur and Kuningtou War.
戰史館後方是古寧頭三營區，那裏也保留了完整的軍事設備，到古寧頭時不妨也可以去那裏走走看看喲~
There is an army camp behind the museum, and some military equipment is preserved there. Tourists can visit the camp now.
開放時間：每週一至週日 每日08：30 - 17：00
全年無休(農曆除夕或公告停止上班日等特殊狀況，停止開放)
Opening Hours: Everyday 08:30 a.m. to 05:00 p.m.
(New Year's Eve or other special holidays will be closed)
