沙美老街是金沙鎮的軸心,距今應有350~800多年歷史,店屋約清朝道光三十年就有了,曾匯集過四大路的買賣人口。主體是八街八巷弄,因此又稱「八卦街」。現在的沙美老街已經規劃成「沙美商圈」,目前雖然風光不再,但其輪廓依稀可辨,且保有許多傳統美食,相當具有懷舊氣氛。

Shamei old street is in the heart of Jinsha town, with 350~800 years of history. Houses here were built in the Qing dynasty at the crossroads. There are 8 streets and 8 lanes, so it is also known as "Bagua Street". Nowadays the Shamei old street has developed as “Shamei business circle." Although it is no longer as prosperous as before, it retains much the traditional cuisine, and is full of nostalgic atmosphere.

閩式燒餅 Southern Fujian style fried flat bread

 

  與台灣燒餅不同,不是薄燒餅夾油條和蛋,而是包有餡料的,有分鹹的和甜的,鹹的是圓的、甜的是橢圓的,這點也跟台灣不一樣。其成功秘訣是鹹燒餅的內餡使用高粱豬的後腿肉和金門蔥,再加上層層酥皮,最後撒上芝麻;而甜燒餅的內餡則是麥芽糖,所以素食者亦可食用。

 

Unlike Taiwan’s baked flat bread, Fujian-style bread comes in two flavors: sweet and salty. The oval one is sweet and the circular one is salty. Its secret to success is that the fillings of salty pancake are made of sorghum ham and Kinmen’s scallions along with layers of puffed pastry and finally sprinkled with sesame seeds. The stuffing of the sweet bread is vegetarian malt sugar.

  有其著名的餛飩加料、炸蛋餅、海蚵煎,這些都是金門當地的特色小吃。

 

This restaurants most popular food include wonton soup with assorted meatballs, fried oyster omelet, and fried egg cake. These are all local cuisines of Kinmen.

 餛飩加料 Wonton soup assorted meatballs

 

  顧名思義就是餛飩湯裡面加一些其他的料,有貢丸、魚丸、金門肉羹和金門肉球,最後放上蔥花、芹菜等等提香在撒上白胡椒粉,熱騰騰的餛飩加料就上桌囉。

 

Just as the name implies, this is wonton soup with meatballs, fish balls, and Kinmen’s unique starch coated pork. It is garnished with green onion and celery, then sprinkled with white pepper.

 

 炸蛋餅  Fried egg rolls

 

  金門特有的小吃,這種蛋餅很特別,是用炸的,所以口感外酥內軟一口咬下更是蛋香四溢,再搭配獨特醬料風味絕佳。

 

Deep-fried egg rolls are one of the most special local snacks in Kinmen. The way it is made is very different from that of Taiwan’s egg rolls. The egg roll is deep-fried, which makes it crispy outside and soft inside. It tastes delicious when combined with unique sauces.

 

 海蚵煎 Fried oyster omelet

 

  很像台灣的蚵仔煎,但是不太一樣,勾芡比較少,也是用當地現採的蚵仔來做成,裡面加的大多是青菜,有別於台灣加豆芽菜。說到蚵仔,有別於台灣的蚵仔,金門的海蚵是在海邊放花崗岩條,讓蚵苗自己來附著成長,利用潮汐來進食,成長速度很慢,所以金門海蚵體積不大,卻飽滿結實,且蚵味非常濃郁。大多生長於石板上,又名石蚵。

 

Kinmen’s Oyster omelet looks like Taiwan's oyster omelet, but they are not quite the same. Kinmen’s oyster omelet is thinner and is made of local sea oyster. Most of the additions are vegetables, unlike Taiwan’s oyster omelet which has bean sprouts. The way to grow Sea oysters is to put the bar of granite in the sea, the oysters attach to the bars and eat between the tides. The growth of oysters is slow, so the oysters in Kinmen are small. Also, the texture is tough and was a strong flavor. Oysters are mainly grown on granite, so they are also known as rock oysters.
